What a kick in the teeth

a funny week ahead as the sixth form sports committee takes full flight as the first event organised attracted 35 people into a cramped sports hall and other events are in the works in aid of help for heroes. and as I’m co-chairman of sed committee I get regular kudos from management.
malcolm moss mp for north east Cambridgeshire is visiting the school next Friday to discuss & debate climate change. let’s see mr moss mp squirm. another guest this week was nicole from x factor who serenated one of the super embarresed year 13 students but it’s all for charity.
and to top it off today (Saturday) I had an early driving lesson so I could travel by bus to Kettering to watch Kettering play Crawley only to make the journey (which cost £9.50 and took well over an hour) to be greeted by a sign saying “office shut. match called off. sorry for any inconvinience. so we went inti Kettering, got a couple of pasties from greggs and got on the next bus back to Peterborough! god damn you hindsight!

Well what a ever so slightly eccentric week!

well what a week. first off I’ve been trying and struggling to find work experience this week I have already enquired at jagex, east coast, national express east anglia, transport for London, cambs county council, fenland district council, peterborough city council, connect fm, london transport museum, first capital connect, c2c, southwest trains, southern trains and more soon. I have also became addicted to various foreign food such as haw flakes and canned normal coffee(from china) and h&w rootbeer, mountain dew and twinkies from America. and I have had to plan out the next 3 months as I have something on pretty much every day! including 5 days in Dorset for geography research! hope you didn’t fall asleep Reading this. good tie!

Happy Straw Bear Day to all!
I may only be 17 but I managed to get a pint in the Hero and drunk it a bit too fast!
And apparently there was an armed robbery with a security van near somerfields warranting a police search helicopter but I think they caught the bastards.
Fenland District council have agreed that the A605 through Whittlesey needs improvement to allow the town to grow at the same rate that other Market towns are growing.
FDC need to realise
1. The road takes a hell of a lot of traffic and a bypass may be a more viable option.
2. If they want the town to graw maybe they should work with the Bus and Train companies to improve transport links for the whole of the town
3. There isn’t all the required shops and services to grow

So Fenland you had a nice thought but you aint no Philosopher

After my transition from GCSE to A Level I have some things to say.

1st good thing – Good to see that the majority of my comrades have decided to stay in full time education. In this economic climate it is vital to gain all the qualifications you can.

2nd Good point – The Station manager at Whittlesea station has promised to provide extra sanitation at the station.

3rd Point – National Express East Anglia and East Coast have a sale on with tickets priced at
Peterborough to London King’s Cross on National Express East Coast – From £18 Return
Peterborough to York “ ” – From £17 Return

And The bad points
Train Fares from Whittlesea to Peterborough have been raised from £4.20 to £4.30
Not that big a rise but over a year it adds up

And there has still been no MAJOR changes at Whittlesea Station

If anything the new timetable changes to the Whittlesey service provide minimal buses to the east of Whittlesey.

I received my Freedom of information requests back.

Fenland sent me a 56 Page document detailing every contact between Fenland and the TOCs and Cambs County council sent me a link to their councilors expenses details.

Usefull TimeTable For Whittlesea Station

Cambs times

It was good to see a level of debate to my letter last week in the cambs times. As far as my campaign goes I have been in contact with the department of transport, fenland council, crosscountry trains and national express east anglia.

National express say they stop every time they pass through Whittlesey and that they plan to make improvements to the station, this is only by putting up a poster board and potted plants.

Crosscountry, who run trains through Whittlesey every hour but only stop 3 times a day, say that timetabling is out of their hands and that it is down to network rail.

Counciller Martin Curtis says that he will try and push through a better service when the other fenland councillers push for the reopening of the bramleyline.

And finally, the department for transport says that crosscountry and east midland trains only run a token effort to run trains to/from Whittlesey. They also said that the council and the operating company could bid for a government grant to ensure basic facilities for the station in the hundreds of thousands. And neither have applied.

Why the argentina look? How is going to fit into the overall image? What about the home kit? Home kit and Away kit both blue? It don’t Compute!

But I might just buy it instead of the home shirt.
